In The Beginning 

Let's start at the very beginning...it's a very good place to start. I guess I first took an interest in radio when a friend talked about all the radio stations he was able to receive and it Piqued my interest. There had always been an interest in radio as i frequently listened to football commentaries although i have to confess finding them purely by accident rather than by any knowledge. 

My first radio was a battered basic unit of my fathers with the 3 bands..FM MW LW...but i eventually obtained my first SW radio 

It was truly exciting tuning in to stations in different languages and consider how far away the signal was coming from. Possibly the height of excitement was picking up "Voice Of America" then sending what was probably a very inadequate report. It took a while (years) but eventually I got a package of radio freebies. My interest stalled but radio still featured in my life
